Two years+ ago I made a silly decission to spend more that 2000 euro
to buy a top of the line HP omnibook XE3-GC.
Excellent choice then...
A couple of months ago, for time to time, the screen tunred black and
the system was halting. In order to proceed my work I had to reboot.
Last week I had the same problem but the system never recovered.
I don't want to go to HP and spent another 2000 euro for repair. I 'm
wondering why HP doesn't give a proper support... The official HP
discussion forum says stupid thinks like " drop your notebook from 4-5
cm high to fix it..???!?? " please guys .. I need something more
scientific.
I 'll give you a short description of my problem seeking for your
help...
when I turn on the notebook the screen in black (I have also tried an
external VGA monitor but is blanc as well)
I cannot hear the hard disk nor floppy or cd. The only thing is
happening is the CPU fan works for few seconds and then stops while
the only LED is on is the power led.
I thought the BIOS might be the corrupted, as I 've read inthis forum
that when BIOS is corrupted the omnibook series looks dead.
I have tried to connect the power cord while pressing <FN>+B When I do
that I can hear the cpu fan to goes on pernamently, but the floppy
drive (I have already prepared a BIOS recovery disk) doesn't work at
all.
I have even tried to put a parallel boot block-jumper (1->13 , 14->25)
but NOTHING!
I 'm tired Please anybody on this forum lived the same NIGHTMARE
please HELP. If I 'll manage to fix this problem by myself I promise I
keep up with HP for the rest of my life.... If not I 'll buy a TOSHIBA
laptop and give my HP printer to my daughter for her third birthday!!!
My daughter is a descrtuction mashine...
thanks for your time...
