Hi hoping an expert can help me to sort out this problem.I have an
XE3(cel933,14tft)that I bought from auction missing the tft panel, bought a
14tft panel and installed it working great. At the same time I bought a
supposedly dead Pavilion n5271 with 15tft in good condition.I fit the 15
complete lid to the XE3 and it works great.Messed about with the liquid
damaged Pavilion motherboard, cleaned and dried everything and it worked. My
problem is that the display on either the 14 or 15 lid is dark just as if
the invertor or backlight is dead, but of course they arent because they work
fine in the XE3.The Pavilion has a plug in video card whereas the XE3 has
embedded graphics. On the dipswitch on the graphic card the Pavilion was set
to 1,2,3 off and 4 on(when it had the factory shipped 15tft)a friends
Pavilion that has a 14tft has 1on,2off,3on,4off,tried many different
combinations to no avail. It outputs perfectly to a monitor. The only
conclusion I can come to is that the liquid spill has damaged a mainboard
component between the mainboard and the video card unless anyone out there
knows better.Any help on this gratefully received.
TIA
Mick
