I thought I could connect my new PSC 2175 multifunction printer to the USB
port of my Longshine printserver. And I am able to direct some primitive
text file through the print server in a readable way, but not the Windows
test file or Word documents and the like with a proper result.

It seems to be a driver problem.

Can somebody advise me some suitable driver ?

It should be mentioned that the PSC 2175 connected directly to the USB port
of the PC functions all right.

HP does not provide drivers for printers attached to print servers made by other
companies. And your PSC 2175 either may not be designed to be shared on a
network or it requires an HP-brand JetDirect card. This is strictly a software
limitation imposed by HP, who want you to buy a more expensive model of PSC to
run in a network... Ben Myers
