I have an HP 932C Deskjet printer. Some time ago, it started to print
colors incorrectly. Finally, it quit printing yellow entirely. I put a
new color cartridge in the printer, but this did not help. I have no
idea if this is a hardware problem or a software problem. I am ASSUMING
it is not the cartridge, as the problem occurs with at least two
different cartridges.

Ideas?

Apparently Hp has had problems with the yellow, and it is suggested that
you try another cartridge with a point of manufacture different from the
defective one. And try to get some satisfaction from HP

The most common cause for this is a cartridge that is beyond its shelf life.
Check the "install by" date on the cartridge package when buying new
cartridges. For the cartridges you have check the warranty date as shown at
the following:
http://h20015.www2.hp.com/hub_search/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=bua02014 If
the cartridges are beyond the two year warranty get a fresh cartridge. If the
cartridges are still in warranty contact HP or your dealer for a warranty
replacement.
