Some pins were broken off my my old processor and im wondering what
kind of processor i can put in to replace it. The processor was a
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHZ ,512KB ,400MHz. My chip set is a Intel 845GL.
And the computer is a Hewlett Packard 563w ,System # DB215A. I couldnt
find any information on Hewlett Packards site on what i can replace
the processor with. The ones i find dont have the same Mhz or Kb on
the processor. Im not wanting to spend more than 150 US dollars so i
would like to get the best i can put back into the computer.

Thank you very much for any tips or help.

The best bang for the buck is an Intel Celeron processor running in the 2.2 to
2.6GHz range. Smaller cache memory in a Celeron than in a P4, but plenty fast
enough... Ben Myers

I normall agree with Ben 100%, but the Celeron in the 2+ GHz range is a
mighty slow pig compared to the P4, and is roughly equivelent to a 1.2GHz
Athlon. The long pipeline coupled with the small cache really creates an
underperformer, I would spend the money for the P4 unless you're really not
concerned about performance. I'm including a link, please read the
