View Full Version : Graphics drivers for HP4535
I have an HP4535, running Windows 98SE, and I'd like to update the video
drivers. HP no longer develops drivers for this model but I heard that it
can also use Intel's reference drivers for their i810 graphics controller.
Intel offers two different versions of the driver. There's an executable
download WIN9XE67.EXE and there's also a Zip file download WIN9X67.ZIP.
The Zip file download states:: "These materials are intended for use by
developers of Intel® 810 and Intel® 815 Chipset Family based products only.
Includes VBIOS". Which would be the better choice? Thanks in advance.
Here is Intel's download page for reference ....

Hi Tim
The EXE and ZIP files should be the same. Other than one contains VBIOS
which would explain the larger file size. Did you read the Read Me or
Release Notes ?
Hope you find what you need. Been going round and round trying to get all
the drivers I need also.

No difference in content. Just a difference in packaging, self-extracting EXE
versus ZIP with needs an external program to extract the files.

No oops required Donna. There IS a difference in content. According to
Intel (who finally answered my email) the Zipped version includes additional
video BIOS files that the executable version does not - reason being that
it's a different version of the driver which *requires* the included video
BIOS files.
I still appreciate the replies though. Thanks.

Tim,
I have used the win9xe67.exe on my pavilion 6730 with great results .
the
intel page states it is the newest driver available for the 810
family for 98se .
good luck,
terry
