View Full Version : No sound from PCI card caused by mainboard?
Just a guess, but if there was a power spike it is going to affect 1.) your
power supply, 2.) your mainboard 3.) your sound card ... in that order. So
yes, your mainboard is lucky to still be alive let alone carry your audio
signals, or any signals for that matter.

news:Ax-dnU6F7fw4ZHqjXTWcoQ@comcast.com... Sound went out on my PC the other day after power hit. Reinstalled drivers, Windows ME. Replaced sound card with brand new one. Tried different PCI slots. Speakers are just fine. Wiring is just fine. Nothing has helped. All that's left is the mainboard. But what could
cause this behavior in the mainboard? The PCI to ISA bridge or something?
