But to get the best out of it I need to increase the bus speed (now running very stable on 66.6 x 3) for I am turning this system into a LAN-server with 4x 20GB IBM hard drives -- but without increasing the bus speed it kanda slows down pretty fast.
Doubtful that it will do the job even if you can make it run faster.
Please advise.

So for under $200 you get something about ten times as fast that will
last you another six years. You can afford ten cents a day. You might
want to spend more for a different mobo you can tweak. Newegg has a
good Maxtop case for $38 shipped if you need one.
But you might have to wait five years or so until you can talk about how
you are squeezing every last bit of performance out of your old
computer. Until then you can brag about how little you paid ...
