Hi,

I have an Adcom TV Tuner card with a Philips chipset. The problem is
that pretty often the display freezes. I have noticed that whenever
this happens the volume control icon in the system tray shows that it
is muted, (even without me doing anything). It automatically starts
again after about 15-30 secs.

The output of the TV Tuner goes into the line in of my Soundblaster
(SBS 20, Vibra 128) Soundcard.

What could be the problem?

Neil

PS: I dunno whether there is a more appropriate group to make this
post on. Please tell me if there is.

I would chuck the Vibra card away.(Theyre a budget card with a poor
reputation) But try some updated drivers from Creative first. Do a search
for the cards model number (grab all the cards numbers from the actual card
in the computer. Something like PC3093) and look them up on Creative and
download the right drivers first. The other thing I'd do is make sure the
ADCOM TV card has its drivers updated, and read some faqs online regarding
trouble shooting these cards.
