View Full Version : wol & lan info please

I've just been playing about with a wol-enabled lan card (smc1255) on
a kt7a mobo. My intention was to allow the m/c to be woken from a
standby state to allow remote dumps. However, it persistently turns
itself on from power-off (I suspect every 64 secs - in sync with the
lan ntp broadcast). I've had to remove the wol lan-to-mobo jumplead
to prevent this -- fiddling with the bios settings didn't stop it.

I'm *very* hazy about the acpi power states and the various transition
triggers, and the mobo manual is no help. Can anyone suggest a good
primer please? Or even suggest what I need to do?

Thanks.
