IT Forums - rewrite SPD EEPROM with motherboard ?

I have found some advertising from I.-Will which says in the BIOS section
"Write protection for memory SPD EEPROM's "
Does I means on the other way around that's possible to write the SPD
contents with the motherboard ???
Does anyone have some informations about that ?

Don't most dimms wire the seeprom's WP pin to a pullup?
That'd make anything the bios folks say rather moot...
