hello:
I have a Abit VP6 dual proc. My problem is I can't format my HD. When I
reboot with the boot disk in the CD-ROM drive it gives me "DISK BOOT FAILURE,
INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". I tried to format a Seagate Barracuda
80GB ATA/IV and yet it also gives me the same thing too.
My main HD (C:drive), is the 80GB IBM Deathstar's. I know this is my fault for
not backing up. I updated my BIOS & Highpoint from Abit website for my
motherboard. As soon as I updated my Highpoint and restarted my computer I got
the blue screen of death. The Stop Error is a (0x0000007B)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. My OS is Win2Kpro SP3. I can't even bring up safe
mode or even a Command Console to do a Chkdsk/f/r.
I don't know anything else to do anymore can anyone help me on this one??
My email is: silapulapu@aol.com
Thank you.

Most likely you need to set your bios options to boot from CD first.
The DISK BOOT FAILURE... is coming from the machine trying to look at
the hard drive which, having been formatted has no boot files.
while going through boot sequence and before the drive access there is
usually som instruction, hold Delete down in my case, to get into bios.
