Abit NF7-S Power up failure (HELP!!)

I have put together a computer using Abit's NF7-S as the motherboard.
After connecting the power to the different hardwares (e.g. HD, CD,
DVD, floppy) and the motherboard I turn on the frontal power switch
and the different fans starts running. But after 1-2 seconds the fans
comes to a standstill and all system stops. Apparently a fuse is set
of. From the speaker there is an alarming sound:"toot! toot! toot!
toot!...". To make it stop I have to switch the (back) main switch and
the red indicator on the motherboard light lie down.

I have tried disconnecting all hardware besides the motherboard and
the grafics but I just get the same result. I have a 300W 230V power
unit. Also a g-force4 MX AGP 8X.

Can any one help me? I would be most grateful fore any assistance.
Is there any other information needed to suggest a solution?

You must count the number of bip and if they are longer than the first one.
Then look to the BIOS bip reference and post a new message here.
If you dont know where it could come, do a clear CMOS and see the
difference.

I don't know that mbrd in particular but you need to describe the sound
better, e.g. is it like a siren, electronic beeps, long or short or a
combination?

Have you read the mbrd documentation carefully to see what kinds of alarms
it has? Some mbrds have an anti-intrusion alarm which is supposed to set
off if the case is opened and power is applied - that needs a connection to
the case to work of course and there is a jumper on the mbrd which must be
installed to bypass the alarm - basically disable it. Another possibility
is the CPU cooling fan speed monitor circuit does not sense a signal, or
the speed signal sensed is too slow - this can happen if that fan is
thermostatically controlled and it runs too slow on initial startup.

If you can't find anything, you should also check that the video card is
well seated in its socket and that the mbrd traces are not being shorted
against any part of the case or mbrd supports.

Sounds like the typical 'cpu unworkable' two-tone siren.

This could mean:

Bad power supply
CPU fan speed issue (old bios versions)
CPU heatsink misapplied
Bad CPU
