Hi people,
I don't know if this is appropriate for this group, but since it is
about pc processors...
Do you know of any good web resources that talk about the floating
point unit?
Something that details(more or less) an adder, a multipler for IEEE
754 floats (32 bit, 64 bit)?
I would like to know about performance analysis in general terms. It
need not be about an actual implementation with gates, but a
schematic. It need not be specific to the x86 FPU.
Something that compares the performance diff between a circuit
specifically made for 32 bit float vs 64 bit floats?
I have heard that 32 bit is faster.
Any help is appreciated.
