Hi. This one seems to have solved the problem, but now I have a problem when reading the CDROM. It's something like "invalid label". Does that ring any bells?

Hi again.Actually, the error message is:READ: sdcmd bad state :0READ: sdcmd bad state :0READ: sdcmd bad state :0READ: sdcmd bad state :0Bad labeland then nothing, it stucks there.Any ideas?

Can you read the CDROM on another computer at all? i.e., on a Unix, BSD or
Linux system, can you successfully run something like
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/tmp/NS33.cdimage
to create a disk image? this command will read every single sector of the
CDROM, creating a CD image (which can then be burned to a new CD or kept
as a backup for that purpose). If this command fails, then it may indicate
an unreadable CDROM. If it succeeds, the CDROM itself should be OK.
The error message does, however, look more like a problem with the drive
than the disc itself, but I've never encountered it.
Best wishes,
