Default Universal Boot / Ether3 error.

My external podule mod is working perfectly, in hardware terms.

During boot though I get the following error:

"Error: this version of Ether3 is for 16 bit cards only"

Can anyone shed any light? I've hooked the 10 base-2 output to an RTL8029
card in my PC, terminated at both ends and put them on the same subnet. I
can't PING the A3000 from the PC.

Regards,
Austin.

The external card requires a version of the Ether3 driver for an 8 bit
interface rather than the internal 16 bit interface. I've sent a copy
by email.

Nothing to do with your ethernet problem (sorry) but did you get the email
(it was somewhat delayed from your A3000 HD post in reply to my previous
post) I sent you re: 2nd hand RPC?

Cheers, Mike...

P.S. actually thinking about your ethernet problem you say you're trying to
ping your PC, is it running XP(either home or pro) SP2? Or have a 3rd party
fire wall installed. The Doze firewall or a 3rd party one may be configured
to ignore ping requests.
