Try using a KVM switch? Saves on desk space too.
That doesn't work with an acorn mouse - it has to be switched separately.
but, if you use a more conventional mouse it does and you can fit STD's adaptor to feed the RiscPC. That's how I have my Iyonix, RiscPC and windows machine connected. KVM came from STD .too.

I can't use anything but a tracker ball - Marconi if at all possible. If I
use a mouse my shoulder and right arm freeze within about three days and I
can't do anything on the computer at all. On my PC I use a Kensington
tracker ball which is just about ok - on the Acorn I've been using a
trackerball since the BBC micro days.

The movement in one direction usually occurs when the relevant slotted discs don't move any more because of dirt or damage.

But the limited movement only occurs when the machine is busy, and when
whatever was using cpu stops, the mouse is fine again.
