Default How do you like Fry's Electronics website? (5 minute survey)

Hello,

As part of my graduate studies am conducting a survey about Fry's
Electronics website (www.frys.com or www.outpost.com) and I am
interested to hear your opinion.

If you never used Fry's website before but still want to contribute to
the survey, please spend 10-15 minutes browsing the website and then
answer the survey questions.

The survey is located at:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=439702649480

I appreciate your help!

Thank you

Sophie

Uh, Frys doesn't have a website. They did at one point when they tried
(laughably) to get into the ISP business, but now it just redirects you to
Outpost.com. Frys has no website of their own.

You might as well ask what we think of Outpost.com's website.

Try again.

He did ask that.

And I think it sucks. I think it sucks because I can't get the same deals
they have in my Fry's ads as I can on the web site and that blows. If they
honored the same prices as the Fry's stores, I'd buy stuff there. But they
don't. So I don't.

But Outpost.com isn't Frys at all. In fact, I don't even know why Frys
points to them, other than someone set up a referral account with Outpost,
and made the Frys.com homepage automatically redirect you there
(cha-ching!)

For being the bay area's #1 technology store - and a mandatory stop for
any tourist visiting the area (I have seen tour busses in Frys' parking
lot before) Frys is surprisingly behind the times, from having someone at
the front of the check-out lines telling you which cashier you're supposed
to use (and they still mess that up), to the distinctly 70's style dumb
terminals they use for returns and item lookups, one gets the impression
that Frys is almost afraid of the technology they sell. Their clerks are
humorously ignorant at best, and dangerously ignorant at worst.
Asking anything other than "Where do you sell 'X'?" is ill-advised.

At least they have a very lenient return policy. But this too is also a
problem since 99% of their returns end up back on the shelf -even if they
were returned in a incomplete or non-working state. Beware any item that
bears a Frys return sticker on it, and don't even bother with the item if
all the stock has a return sticker on it.

And yet, everyone still shops there, despite the negatives. They tend to
have better selection than the other big-box stores, and unlike Best Buy,
their clerks won't follow you around trying to sell you the extended
warranty for that DVD you picked up. Whether this is due to their
training, lack of commisions, or just a lack of English is unknown.

Frys - where you buy a washing machine, a computer case, a DVD, a 6 pack of
coke for $.99, a bag of chips, a porno magazine, AND an O'Reilly book about
Java all under one roof.
