Default Help recover images from frozen Creative Twain webcam driver

Creative Twain Center froze when took a very large number of camera
shots (more than 200). Now, can't acquire shots taken. The shots that I
took are of life importance to me. I really need to recover them.

My name is Wadim Grasza. I am a computer science student and a
professional programmer and will understand professional instructions.

Please help me - tell me how to get to those images. I would be so
grateful if you helped me. Tell me where temporary images are stored
and what can I do to recover them. Thank you so much.

Camera Model: Creative WebCam Live!
Model number: VF 0050
Computer model: HP nx7400
Operating system: Windows Vista 32-bit RC1 build 5600

Do you have any additional questions that I should provide answer to?
Do you know just a bit about it, but think it might help? Please tell
me anything. I am desperate. I will be so grateful if you help me. Your
name will be blessed for centuries.

If you have the or a date that the files were created then WinXP lets you
search for filenames or just *.extension within a given date range.
It might work if you just enter the date range and put *.* as the filename
to cover all files wahtever extension created within that date range.
There are many file creation monitors, take another test image,
and use it to see where it is stored.
Contact Creative support.
Registry monitors also track what's happening but are difficult to
use because of the volume of events they generate, and creating
the filters is not a trivial task.
Just a few thoughts.

<snip>

so are you saying the files were moved to the pc or not?

or are they likeley to be still on the camera?

and if so if the camera is screwed then they will be lost....

do a search for *.jpg and *.bmp and so on and so on (whatver yr cam uses as
an extension ) on your pc on all hard drives if the files are there they
will show up in the search.

give us a bit more info so we can help you more..

regards slayer

I have already solved this problem and recovered my pictures.

Searching for files recently created brought the desired result.

Though I think it indicates a problem within the twain driver
interface, as it crushed when making photo number 201 (after having
made 200 photos) and 200 is not just an arbitrary number; it's a
specific number and it may have been hard-coded in the driver interface
itself as the upper bound for the number of photos taken. This of
course is not correct. Though of course, as I'm not working for the
CREATIVE company, I don't know what is the case.

Many thanks to you all,

Wadim Grasza
