Default Synchronize audio of avi file

Hello all,

can anyone suggest a program to synchronize the audio of an Xvid avi
file? So far, I tried VirtualDub, YAAI, and BestPlay, but to no avail.
Maybe I'm too dumb to understand how to use these programs properly...

The file in question is a movie derived from a ratDVD, converted to
avi with AutoGordianKnot.

Any help is appreciated.

X-post and f'up to alt.video.dvd

Use Virtualdub. Set both audio and video to "Direct Stream Copy" To
adjust sync go to "Audio" on the menu, and enter a figure in
milliseconds under "Delay Audio Track." One video frame is about 33
ms.

Thank you Steve, after trying in vain on my Win2K notebook, I
succeeded at last on my PC with WinXP. (I don't like to use the PC
much ATM, as my monitor went up in smoke recently, and until I can
afford to buy a new one, my only substitute is a 14" with 640x480 max
resolution which really isn't exactly fun...)

The only flaw I find is, that the filesize has almost doubled, so I
must have overlooked something possibly too obvious in VirtualDub -
maybe I'll find out later. At least I can now watch the movie with my
girlfriend, and that was the main task. So, thanks again! :-)
