Well, but it's alt.comp.freeware and not alt.comp.e-mail-replacement. Since our freeware crusader John Corliss is so tenacious in keeping this groups signal to noise ratio high, I too wonder why he (and others) always post this shit (*ping*, *SPAM*, etc). You should be easily able to set up a filter in your newsreader on the subject line inclusion "SPAM*. However, you're right about the Ping

The only postings I get regarding spam are *yours*, because my (free, btw)
ISP - and I guess a lot of other ISPs too - have very good filters. So,
instead of all other newsgroup participants filtering *your* spam answers,
why don't *you* go find a better ISP?

thing. Perhaps it would be better to use *PING* for easier filtering.

No, it would *definitely* be better if all of you pingers used e-mail
instead. Or would you like others to start topics such as *PAYWARE*, *BIKES*
or *GUNS* with the argument that those wo don't like to read these postings
can filter them?

If you're too lazy, contentious or even stupid to set up a filter on the
word *SPAM* then I have absolutely no sympathy for you.

Spam copping is going to continue in this group whether or not you like
it. So is discussion of on-topic subjects, like mine with Susan about
the Pricelessware list and it's procedures.

Deal with it.

John Corliss. I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett or Google Groups
posts (except for spam.)
No ad, cd, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, share, spy, time-limited or
trial wares or warez for me, please.
