We had very similar problems with the 7310 All-in-One.
What fixed all of our problems was the latest Install CD available for a small
fee from HP:
https://warp2.external.hp.com/Drive...2&lang=en&cc=us
When we inserted this latest CD on our Windows XP (Home) system that gave various
error messages when we invoked the HP Director to scan, it (the logic on that CD)
first uninstalled our current support for the 7310,and then it installed the
version on the CD. The lagest CD is labeled 4.7.0 dated 8/2006.
This hae 4.7 drivers but it has other needed 7310 software. If your Install
CD is not labeled 4.7.0 get and use that CD as noted above.
