Default Excalibur on HD DVD - WTF?!?

There's a blurb on The Digital Bits site about this movie getting a HD dvd
release at the end of this month. The thing is, the mediocre specs (DD 2.0
stereo) are for basically the same as the absolutely shitty regular dvd
release from a few years back. It's a shame that this is a decent movie that
*could* look absolutely stunning given the proper transfer. Anyone wanna bet
this will be a transfer from the same grainy, mediocre source as the dvd and
will go on to be one of the harshest panned transfers so far of any HD or
Bluray release?

T.B.
