Default NeXTSTEP 3.3 on HP PA-RISC 712/80

Ok, I got myself a nice HP 712/80 with a 20" HP monitor from freecycle and tried to install NeXTSTEP on it, however, although the first 2 parts go fine (the text based install bit and the setup and main install bit) as soon as I restart from that it hangs trying to connect to a network, which I cancel using ^C, but then hangs again at "Mounting remote filesystems," I have no idea why but thats what happens, If i cancel this with ^C then it says "Starting File service Daemons:" nd sits there until i press ^C^C when it says "Starting network daemons: inetd" and finally will not respond to anything. The cd drive I am using is a Yamaha 4x8x24x Cd Rewriter in 512 mode connected to the internal bus as ID 1 (it's resting on top with a seperate PSU). The HD is ID 0 and is a 1GB IBM drive with apple firmware. The 712 has 128MB RAM and runs HP/UX from the supplied 2GB Segate Hawk drive fine. I have tried booting it with and without the network plugged into it and i get the same problem.

Thanks in advance
