Default [comp.publish.cdrom] CD-Recordable FAQ -- pointer

This is not the CD-Recordable Frequently Asked Questions posting, but
rather a pointer to it. I'm posting this because there may be propagation
problems with the FAQ (it's rather large for a Usenet posting), and some
sites have automatic filters that think it's spam. This is also going
out to newsgroups that don't normally see the FAQ.

The FAQ is posted approximately once a month to the comp.publish.cdrom.*
newsgroups, news.answers, and comp.answers. It is an "official" Usenet
FAQ, and can be obtained wherever finer FAQs are found. Reading the FAQ
before posting a question to the newsgroups is recommended.

The canonical HTML version of this FAQ is available from:
http://www.cdrfaq.org/

The text version, archived from the four-part Usenet posting, is here:
ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-gr...cdrom.hardware/

Some translations are available (may be somewhat out of date):
German: http://www.dvddemystifiziert.de/cdr/faq.html
Turkish: http://www.tarman.ws/
Hungarian: http://delfin.klte.hu/~nagysz/cdrgyik/
French: http://www.lagravuredecd.com/
Italian: http://web.tiscali.it/marzonaontheweb/faq/faq.html
Russian: http://members.tripod.com/greatkorzhik/cdrfaq.htm

If you don't have web access, you can request a plain text copy of the FAQ
by e-mail like this:

To: mail-server@rtfm.mit.edu
Subject: foo

send faqs/cdrom/cd-recordable/part1
send faqs/cdrom/cd-recordable/part2
send faqs/cdrom/cd-recordable/part3
send faqs/cdrom/cd-recordable/part4

Put the "send" lines in the body of the message, one per line. The subject
line doesn't matter.
