Default Changing text direction permanently?

Hi

In Corel Draw 12, for some reason, as I type text, it always enters it from
right to left. When I click on the properties, I am able to change it from
left to right. However I need to do this every single time I used the text
feature. Is there a way I can set it to type in text *always* from left to
right?

Thanks

Jo

Click on the Text Tool but not on the page. On the Property Bar pick the
Horizontal Alignment you want and a dialogue box will pop up asking you if
you want it to be the default. Say OK.

Tried this. It works for the individual flyer I am doing. However when I
open a new document it reverts back to right-to-left alignment, and I have
to do what you suggest again. Incidentally it never asks if I wish it to be
default. It does ask if I wish to apply the change to artistic text or
paragraph text. I choose both. Thereafter it works fine for that document,
but it doesn't make the change a permanent one in Corel's permanent default
settings.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Jo

Once you've got it working the way you want it, on the menu bar, go to Tools
and click on Save Settings As Default. Subsequent drawings should retain
your settings.

You should just be able to click on the text button but before you click on
your page, choose the left aligned button and a pop-up will come up
announcing that it will assign this as default to either artistic text or
paragraph text, whichever you choose. This feature can be used with almost
any tool button as long as you do not click on the page before choosing a
feature of the button, ie: default font, default line color etc. Keith
