Default Read Write Diagnostic

I'm not sure if this should be in the software or hardware sections, so I'm
posting it in both.

My IBM T30 can read CD's ok and using Ultra ISO & IBM Record Now writing
CD's incur no errors while writing. However, these CD's cannot be read by
the T30 or my desktop system.

I have looked for a diagnostic that actually reads and writes the CD. I
have found several that are aimed at recovering bad CD's (neither of which
can read those written by the T30) but I have not found a diagnostic that
exercises the drive.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a product that would fit this need?

Thanks

There is no such diagnostic. Most likely the drive reached its end. Try
cleaning the drive with canned compressed air or cd cleaner disc.

Mike Richter - The Slimiest Friggin SOB (UDF)
=============================================

The slimiest friggin SOB Mike Richter has been for YEARS
blaming the UDF to weasel out the bugs of DirectCD:

------------------------------------------
UDF is a fragile format
UDF is an unreliable format

the format is very fragile and unreliable

The format is bad - it loses data

The fault is not with the software but with the format

I have used only DCD for packet writing,
have had no problems due to the software

- but too many due to the format itself

to bother with it any longer.

But then again:

First, your problem is not with UDF
