Default HP Netserver LC2000 with Seagate SCSI Hard Drives

hi

i try to replace a hp harddisk p1166 (seagate ST318404LC) with an
seagte ST336704LCV in my netserver lc 2000. at first i replace one
harddisk with an new seagate and this will not detect. the second try i
found an news post with the hint to use the "force singel ended" jumper
on the harddisk. with this jumper the harddisk will detect by the
netraid contoller, but the automatic rebuild will not start. the
rebuild will only start manual, an then very slow. with the same
harddisk at an another netserver, the harddisk is not detect. only the
red led will signal an error.
hay anyone an hint to me?

thanks

martin

ps: i'm sorry! my english is so bad!

Get a diagnosis from them. They should help you out.

You may need the correct type of HDD. In which case, they should give you
the model number you need, if you ask nicely, and you can get one off E-Bay.

Of course they do, but since the LC2000 is very likely to be out of
warranty for a long time now they also will charge him (probably more
than the LC2000 is worth)...

To get the p/n he doesn't need to call hp. That's what
<http://partsurfer.hp.com> is for...

Leave the "Force SE" jumper on the drive, but be sure that there are no
other jumpers on the disk.

Is the disk new or used? If used, connect it to an Adaptec SCSI
controller (should be an Adaptec one, not one of the other brands!) and
do a low level format on it and then try again...

They will charge for parts, but not for the diagnosis that determines which
part is required.
