I have been doing some research on Webcams, so that I (while at work)
and family members (far away) can see my newborn son. The
qualifications are as follows:

Must be a wireless camera - so my wife can move it with her when she
takes him to another room (my linksys router supports both b and g)
Must work pretty well in lower light levels (at night with table lamps
for illumination).
Some Cameras specifically say they work with IE6, compatability for
other browsers is a big plus for relatives with macs and safari for
these camera's with built in web servers.
Video streaming is a plus.
Sound is optional.
Budget is a soft $300 per camera, I'd spend more to make sure I get the
right camera the first time around.

I have a cable connection at home with decent upload speeds and don't
expect more than 4 active connections.

Here are the camera's that I've found while searching the web, but I
haven't found any third party reviews to give me a good idea which way
to go. Also there may be others out there I haven't pulled up in my
searches that might meet my needs better.

TrendNet's offerings:
IP201W (wireless with audio) - says it has M-JPEG quality streaming
video - or the 200 without sound.
IP400W - has tilt and pan capabilities - expensive

DLink:
DCS950G - Wireless with Audio - Says .5 Lux light sensitivity - looks
pretty promising
DCS2100+ - Wireless with Audio.

I was hoping some of the guru's here may be familiar with some of these
products and could give me insight as to how to best plan my budding
home monitoring setup.

I have a few ip cams

Havent used the dlink 950 but of the three you are looking at, think I might
try it. Have seen many complaints on it, but usually they seem to be just
misunderstanding how to set configurations in cam and/or router. Shop
wisely and you might be able to buy two for under $300.
But again, I have no experience with that model.

1 lux or less is most likely what you want unless you have bright office
level lighting.

somethings to consider;
upload speed is important.
mpeg is generally significantly lower bytes than m-jpeg(lots of bytes)
some, when you move them, focus may need tweaking/adjusting.
And yep ActiveX only cams, your friends on firefox or whatever may have to
do some searching for an axtiveX enabling plug in if the cam doesnt allow
selecting Java.
