ave a friend who's looking for a basic CAD program. He's mainly looking to do simple floor plans and designing simple products. The user is a mid-level computer users, so would like a program that is fairly intuitive to use. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I use Visualcadd. An easy to use 2D drafting program.

My b-i-l was showing me some stuff using SketchUp from Google. Looked pretty
useful.
SketchUp sucks for floorplans. It is however an amazing application for 3D
massing and sun studies but it is timely and flakey to use and I say this
after almost 20 years of using various CAD programs. This free CAD program
[1] caught my attention this week noting I have not tried it. Otherwise, I
would suggest neophytes buy one of the 3D CAD programs off the shelf from
CompUSA as they are actually quite robust and very very easy to use.
