They sure are annoying. It's certainly reducing the effectiveness of the
group. It wasn't a problem until about two months ago, but it's getting
worse every day. Hopefully, if we ignore them, they'll go away.

I see both of you are using OE6. In case you're not aware, there's a
bug in OE of previous versions, and probably ver. 6 too, that allows
you to do a "Find Message" that includes the offending message(s),
then highlight it or them | Edit | Move to Folder | ....
That will move the message(s) from your news account to a folder of
your Local Folders account, such as "Deleted Items", from which you
may then actually delete the header(s) if you wish.

It's a roundabout procedure, and a pain, but it allows you not to have
to look at the junk any more (or at least until that news account gets
reset). But if you open the same newsgroup in a different server account,
the junk will still be there, unless it's something that the server can filter out.
